Yesterday, fence repair season (which is rumoured from previous owners to run approximately 360 days a year) began at The Ranchette despite the fact that it is January and now something like -1 F. For the power tool challenged, this became a longer task than imagined:
- Cordless saw not charged
- Since the move, can’t find the charger. Where have all the tools gone. . .long time finding…
- Existing hand saw is made for giants with man sized bodies and some hope of upper body strength.
- The One Spot at my friend Target is not the ideal place to buy a functioning tape measure. Has the drooping disease that makes measuring by one’s self a contortionist’s exercise. This is a blow to me. Luckily DH has donated his (purchased at a real hardware store no doubt. Show-off.)
All these things aside, a new board in place and looking quite smart.
This exercise was followed by a bout of muttering as I discovered a probable cause for the board having come off in the first place. J, the only horse on The Ranchette currently, has taken to rubbing rear end on that section of fencing. Was gliding his derriere on a neighboring board as soon as I cleared out of the pasture. Come spring, will extend the electric fence to that area and oh what a pleasant surprise he will find! I hope I am home to laugh, I mean, monitor the installation.
